Michael Tan

Michael is passionate about working with his private business clients and enjoys the relationships that he build with them.  He sees his role as much more than getting accounts and tax returns right.  He is an enabler – someone who is there to give his clients the confidence to get on with the real business and to achieve what they want to achieve with their business and finances.

Joining PwC in 2001 as a graduate, Michael has worked with clients of all sizes, from individual entrepreneurs, small Kiwi family businesses all the way through to New Zealand subsidiaries of large multi-nationals.  He’s currently working with a range of clients in the private business sector, including some he has helped since his time as a graduate.  He has built a reputation for providing his clients with practical commercial solutions to problems.  Being also fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, he also works with a growing number of asian clients from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other parts of Asia.

Being the proud father of 3 girls and also having his mother living in the same household, Michael is surrounded by women at home.  Like most Kiwi fathers, he enjoys spending time with his family and is often found ferrying the family around in the weekends.  Michael is a cricket fan and enjoys all aspects of science fiction, and when possible, seizes the opportunity to sit down to read a good novel or watch a movie.
